Researchers report that a brain-computer interface has helped restore both movement and the sensation of touch in a 48-year-old man with quadriplegia, according to STAT News. The system, described as a “double neural bypass,” works by routing signals around the site of spinal injury, reconnecting the brain’s motor commands to the body and returning sensory feedback in the other direction.
